A group out of the axis of the great cities.
The Grupo Fora do sériO was founded in 1988 and is quartered in Ribeirão Preto since 1991. Its portifolio is composed by the following performances: "Arlecchino" - 1988, "Aqui não, Pantaleão!" – 1989 (“Not Here, Pantaloon!”), "A Chave e a Fechadura" – from 1988 to 94 (“The Lock and The Key”), "Mistério Bufo" – 1992 (“Mystery Buffo”), "A Commedia Dell’Arte" 1992, "O Asno" – 1994 and 1999 (“The Donkey”), "O Gato Malhado e a Andorinha Sinhá" – 1995 (“The Piebald Cat and Miss Swallow”), "Trapalhadas de Arlequim" – 1999 (“Arlecchino’s Dirorders”), "Helênica" -1999, "História de um Barquinho" – 1999 and 2002 (“The Cockboat Story”), "O Casamento do Capitão Cagapau" – 2001 (“The Marriage of Capitain Cagapau”), "Onde Não Houver Um Inimigo Urge Criar Um" – 2002 (“If there is not an enemy, there is the impulse to create one”), "Auto da Barca do Inferno" - 2002, "A Ilha do Dr. Moreau" – 2004 (“The Island of Dr. Moreau”), the realization of the I e II Encontro Brasileiro de Teatro de Grupo (1st and 2nd Brazilian Meeting of Group Theatre), the edition of the magazine “Máscara” – from 1991 to 93, the production of the documentary “Viagem ao Mundo da Máscara” – 1997 (“Trip to the Mask World”), ehibitions of the masks made in Jair Correia’s lab. – 2000 – 2001, workshops ministrated in different cities of São Paulo, Ceará, Bahia and Santa Catarina and participation in national and international feltivals and conferences. Fora do sériO’s work is fortified mainly by the study of Commedia Dell’Arte, movement of popular theatre that revolutionized the actor’s way of interpreting characters, using masks, stilts, juggling, dance, music and acrobatics, interacting directly with the spectator, and introducing for the first time in the theatre history, the woman onstage. The base of today’s theatre is in magnifying these qualities: Fora do sériO searches for language mixturing and for experiences in the most varied spaces: stage, arena theatre, the street, alternative spaces in a contemporaneous communicative expression.				From May to August, the SescSp Ribeirão Preto promoted an ambitious project by Casa da Arte/Fora do seriO, which was the Creation and Production of the theatrical spectacle "A Coisa Privada".
				More than 50 thousand people, from 45 different cities, have had the opportunity to watch the spectacle "Auto da Barca do Inferno". "Auto da Barca do Inferno", performed by Fora do sériO, was indicated for the 16° Prêmio Shell de Teatro - 2003 in the Costume category (Dino Bernardi and Jair Correia for the Visual Conception and for the Masks).
				The Fora do sériO uses theatrical masks for the conception of its spectacles and has a unique pedagogy for either the conception as well as for the use of this fabulous tool of interpretation.
